| Vorderseitenbeschreibung | The obverse is executed in shades of blue and green, with a central vignette comprising portrait busts of three Basotho kings arranged in a layered composition: King Moshoeshoe I to the left, King Letsie III in the foreground centre, and Marime Moshoeshoe I to the right, all set against a guilloche underprint. The issuer inscription 'Central Bank of Lesotho' runs across the top, with the legal tender clause below it, the Governor's facsimile signature at upper left, and the denomination numeral '20' printed in large letterpress at lower left and lower right. The national arms vignette appears at upper right within a decorative panel, and the serial number is printed in blue at lower centre. |

| Anmerkungen |
The 20 Maloti sits in an awkward denomination within Lesotho's circulating series — large enough to matter in daily commerce but too modest to attract serious collector attention, which means genuinely uncirculated examples from this print run are harder to find than the mintage would suggest. The pula-pegged Lesotho loti has tracked the South African rand since 1980 under the Common Monetary Area agreement, making the Central Bank's note-issuing function partly ceremonial in economic terms.
Matlanyane has held the governorship since 2012, making her one of the longer-serving central bank governors on the continent.
