Reverse description The reverse presents a full-length standing figure of Saint Marinus, the founder and patron saint of San Marino, depicted in the garb of a stonemason with a cloak and tunic, holding a set square and a book or stone block. The figure is rendered in fine classical relief, attributed to the engraver Pucci as indicated by the signature visible in the lower field. The denomination L 20 appears prominently to the right of the figure within the field. A beaded inner border frames the design, with the circular legend IN LIBERTATE CONSTIT — alluding to the motto of San Marino — arcing around the full periphery.
