Reverse description A scene depicting the Works of Mercy theme of hospitality: the figure of Jesus, portrayed as a pilgrim traveler, stands at a doorway while a man opens the door and illuminates the scene with a handheld oil lamp. The composition is rendered in low relief with expressive figural detail characteristic of mid-20th-century Vatican medallic art.
