Full-length frontal figure of Saint Marinus, the founder and patron saint of the republic, standing in robes and nimbed with a halo, holding a set square in his right hand and a trowel in his left — attributes referencing his trade as a stonemason. The denomination L 20 is inscribed on either side of the figure in the field. The circular legend LIBERTAS appears along the upper periphery in stylised Gothic lettering, interspersed with decorative dotted separators.
