| Additional information |
Ahmed II ruled for less than three years, from 1691 to 1695, dying in office as Ottoman forces struggled to recover from the catastrophic defeat at the Second Battle of Mohács. His reign produced no meaningful monetary reform, and he remains one of the least documented sultans of the classical period. The Turkish State Mint has periodically issued commemorative silver pieces honoring obscure or short-reigned sultans as part of broader dynastic series — this piece falls within that program.
