| Reverse description | Central depiction of the celebrated Alexander Sarcophagus (İskender Lahiti), a masterpiece of late 4th-century BC Hellenistic funerary sculpture, shown in three-quarter perspective with its characteristic ridge roof adorned with lion protomes and acanthus finials. The long face of the sarcophagus exhibits richly detailed high-relief battle and hunting scenes with multiple figures in dynamic combat. The surrounding legend arching along the upper field reads TÜRKİYE'DEKİ İLK MÜZENİN KURULUŞUNUN 125.
