| Obverse description | Central depiction of the neoclassical facade of the Istanbul Archaeological Museums (Müze-i Hümayun), rendered in fine relief with prominent Corinthian columns, a pediment surmounted by a finial, and richly detailed architectural ornamentation. The date 2017 appears at the base of the central doorway, accompanied by the Turkish State Mint mintmark below. The crescent and star emblem of Turkey is positioned at the top of the field above the building. | Reverse description | Central depiction of the celebrated Alexander Sarcophagus (İskender Lahiti), a masterpiece of late 4th-century BC Hellenistic funerary sculpture, shown in three-quarter perspective with its characteristic ridge roof adorned with lion protomes and acanthus finials. The long face of the sarcophagus exhibits richly detailed high-relief battle and hunting scenes with multiple figures in dynamic combat.
