Opmerkingen

Bulgaria's 1962 note series was issued under the tight political and economic orbit of the Soviet Union, and the choice of Goznak in Moscow as printer was entirely consistent with that alignment — several Warsaw Pact states had their currency printed there during this period. The notes entered circulation during a currency reform that replaced the old lev at a 10:1 ratio, effectively wiping out accumulated savings and resetting the monetary system.

Goznak production from this era is generally clean and consistent, though the watermark security on Bulgarian issues of this series is considered relatively rudimentary by contemporary standards.
