The denomination numeral 20 appears prominently in the upper field, with ΛΕΠΤΑ inscribed in Greek capitals below the hole. The word ESSAI is incused in small Latin letters to the upper right, identifying this as a pattern strike. A beaded border frames the entire design. |

The 1912 20 Lepta was ultimately issued in cupro-nickel for circulation, making this nickel pattern a pre-production variant that diverged from the final specification.
