正面描述 Central round perforation flanked by two crossed olive branches whose stems meet at the base of the design, framing the hole on either side. A royal crown surmounts the perforation at the top, its arches and jewelled band rendered in fine relief. The circular legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΟΝ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ (Kingdom of Greece) runs around the periphery, interrupted at the base by the date flanked by two dots.

附加信息

Greece's postwar aluminum coinage was introduced as the country rebuilt following occupation, civil war, and near-total monetary collapse. The drachma had been redenominated in 1944 at a rate of 50 billion old drachmai to one new — one of the most severe currency resets of the 20th century — and the small-denomination aluminum issues of the 1950s were a deliberate signal of stabilization under the constitutional monarchy.

Production of this type ran through 1971, the year the junta that had seized power in 1967 abolished the kingdom outright.
