| Opmerkingen |
Sierra Leone's economy was under severe strain by 1988 — the leone had been devalued repeatedly through the mid-1980s under IMF pressure, and inflation was eroding purchasing power fast enough that the 20 Leone note, once a meaningful denomination, was already losing practical relevance by the time these sheets left De La Rue's London presses.
James Moore's engraving credit is worth noting. Moore worked on a number of West African issues for De La Rue during this period, and his line work is identifiable to specialists familiar with the house style of that decade.
