| Opmerkingen |
The P#52 series was produced during a period of relative monetary stability for Malawi, but the 20 Kwacha denomination itself occupied an awkward middle position in the series — too small for most commercial transactions by the mid-2000s, when inflation was steadily eroding purchasing power in the country. De La Rue's London facility printed the series through the full 2004–2009 run without a design change, which is notable given that several neighboring central banks were revising their issue schedules frequently during the same window.
The OVD security thread was a meaningful upgrade for Malawi at this denomination level, where counterfeiting pressure was most acute in daily market use.
