Obverse description Central field dominated by the elaborate tughra (imperial monogram) of Sultan Abdülmecid I, rendered in finely detailed calligraphic relief with characteristic sweeping vertical strokes (tuğ) and interlaced horizontal loops (beyze). A small floral spray with rosette buds appears to the right of the tughra. The inner field is enclosed within a distinctive scalloped or polylobed border composed of alternating crescent-shaped arcs and small rosette ornaments, interspersed with six-pointed stars throughout. The regnal year notation appears in Arabic numerals at the base of the tughra. The outer rim features a continuous beaded or rope-twist border.
