| Obverse description | Intaglio portrait of Ban Josip Jelačić (1801–1859) at right, rendered in fine engraved detail against a multicolour guilloche underprint in rose, ochre and violet tones. At upper centre, the Croatian coat of arms and a small vignette of the standard 20 Kuna note design appear within a decorative panel, accompanied by verses of the Croatian national anthem in microprint. The large numeral '20' in optically variable ink occupies the lower centre, with the bank title 'HRVATSKA NARODNA BANKA' and denomination 'DVADESET KUNA' inscribed vertically at left. |
