The "Spurve" series — named informally after the sparrows featured in the design source — ran for nearly a decade with a notable churn of signature combinations, the second signatory position cycling through Valeur, Billestrup, and Herly across three distinct phases. That volume of variants makes date-signature pairing the primary collecting variable for this type. The 1983 dates are the thinnest in the run, appearing with only two combinations, while 1982 and 1986 were skipped entirely in dated production.
Printed entirely in-house at the Nationalbank's own Copenhagen facility, which operated continuously from 1818 until its closure in 2016.
