The lion faces right, its mane finely detailed with deeply incised striations, and rests its forepaws upon a rectangular panel inscribed with the denomination KR 20 at the base of the design. The commemorative legend NORGES HØYESTERETT · 200 ÅR curves along the upper periphery, marking the 200th anniversary of the Supreme Court. The engraver's monogram CHR appears in the lower left field near the rim. |
