A bear passant to left is depicted above the shield as a civic emblem. The circumferential legend reads MONETA ⋆ CIVITATIS ⋆ ZOFINGEN, separated by five-pointed star stops, running clockwise around the periphery of the coin. The overall composition is rendered in high relief with fine detail on the cartouche scrollwork. The coin's edge is encircled by a toothed or reeded border. |
