| Beschrijving keerzijde | The denomination 20 KREUZER and the date 17 25 are inscribed in three lines across the central field, framed by a wreath of laurel or olive branches tied at the base. The circular legend DILEXIT DOMINVS DECOREM IVSTITIÆ (meaning 'The Lord loved the beauty of justice') runs around the periphery in Latin script. The typographic arrangement of the denomination and date within the wreath is characteristic of Swiss cantonal silver coinage of the early 18th century. |

Obwalden was among the smallest and least prosperous of the Swiss forest cantons, and its independent coinage output was correspondingly limited. This 20 Kreuzer series ran for roughly seventeen years under cantonal authority before Swiss monetary fragmentation made such small-issuer silver increasingly impractical to sustain. HMZ records only a handful of die variations across the entire emission period.
