Reverse description A bold cruciform monogram composed of four interlaced Gothic letter B's, one in each quadrant formed by a plain cross, the whole occupying the central field. The circular Latin legend V·DOMINVS·PROVIDEBIT with the date 1679 runs along the periphery, separated from the inner design by a toothed border. The design is executed in a bold relief characteristic of late 17th-century Swiss cantonal coinage.
