The Czech 20 korun entered circulation in 1993 alongside the new Czech Republic itself, following the peaceful dissolution of Czechoslovakia on January 1st of that year. The denomination was struck continuously through the late 1990s with no significant design or composition changes — this 2000 example is a late production piece from a long, stable run rather than a transitional or commemorative issue.
