Obverse description	The central vignette renders a group of Lao women engaged in rice processing — sifting, pouring, and distributing grain — executed in fine intaglio line work against a light guilloche underprint. The denomination numeral '20' appears in ornate medallions at each corner, flanked by vertical panels of traditional Lao decorative motifs, while the Lao script title and state motto are printed across the upper register. The denomination in Lao script, ວາອກັບ, is boldly set at the lower centre, with two red serial numbers printed across the lower half of the note.

Reverse description	The central vignette presents a scene of blacksmiths labouring at a forge, rendered in detailed intaglio engraving in brown tones over a pink and green guilloche underprint. A circular cartouche at the right contains a vignette of the That Luang stupa in Vientiane, framed by ornate traditional Lao scrollwork, while a diamond-shaped numeral panel at the left displays the value '20'. Lao script inscriptions appear in the upper register and the denomination in large Lao characters occupies the lower centre.
