Descrizione del dritto	The obverse is dominated by a central intaglio vignette of a Raggiana Bird of Paradise with wings spread, perched above a traditional kundu drum, set against an intricate red and orange underprint of indigenous geometric and tribal motifs. Large numeral '20' appears in the upper left and upper right corners, with a decorative tribal animal figure extending along the right margin. Two manuscript signatures appear at the lower portion, captioned 'GOVERNOR' at left and 'SECRETARY, DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE' at right, with the inscription 'TWENTY KINA' and 'LEGAL TENDER THROUGHOUT PAPUA NEW GUINEA' printed in the centre-right field.

Descrizione del rovescio	The reverse carries a large intaglio vignette of a decorated pig's head adorned with traditional shell and bead ornaments, occupying the centre-right of the note against a background of colourful indigenous geometric patterns in red, orange, and gold. A stylised tribal motif panel appears at the left, alongside the figure of a bird of paradise rendered in the traditional Sepik art style. The denomination numeral '20' is printed at the lower right, with the issuer's name along the lower margin.
