| Descrizione del dritto | The obverse features a stylized triangular geometric composition in the field, evoking the form of a historical state document. Within the triangle, Cyrillic text reproduces the Law of the Ukrainian State on the founding of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences in Kyiv, signed by Hetman Pavlo Skoropadsky on 14 November 1918, with his facsimile signature rendered in cursive script below. The legend 'УКРАЇНА' arcs along the left rim and '20 ГРИВЕНЬ' along the right, with the small trident state emblem at the apex. At the base of the composition, a gilt medallion depicts the seal of the Ukrainian State, flanked by the founding and centenary dates '1918' and '2018' in the lower field. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | The reverse presents six oval portrait medallions of eminent presidents and founding members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, arranged symmetrically around a centrally placed gilt depiction of the Academy's main building in Kyiv. The portraits, each inscribed with the subject's name in Cyrillic, represent Volodymyr Vernadsky (prominently at top centre), Mykola Vasylenko, Orest Levytsky, Volodymyr Lypsky, Danylo Zabolotny, Oleksandr Bohomolets, Borys Paton, and Oleksandr Palladin. The inscription '100 РОКІВ' appears above the gilt building, and the legend 'НАЦІОНАЛЬНА АКАДЕМІЯ НАУК УКРАЇНИ' is displayed in three lines along the lower rim. |
