| 备注 |
Wernstein am Inn is a tiny municipality on the Austrian bank of the Inn River, directly opposite the Bavarian town of Neuburg am Inn. Its notgeld issue in 1920 belongs to the vast wave of Austrian municipal emergency money printed after the collapse of the Habsburg economy left the new Republic of Austria chronically short of small-denomination coinage. Jos. Feichtingers Erben was a well-established Linz printing house responsible for a significant number of Upper Austrian notgeld issues from this period, and their work is generally consistent in ink registration.
The 20 Heller denomination placed this note squarely in everyday retail use — bread, postage, tram fares.
