Text blocks arranged in justified columns to either side carry the authorizing resolution text, with the place name 'Weitersfelden' and date '10. Mai 1920' in bold at centre. A circular municipal seal of Weitersfelden is impressed at centre, and the denomination words 'ZWANZIG' and 'HELLER' appear in large display letterpress at top and bottom respectively, flanking the note. |

A central rectangular vignette presents a panoramic view of the village of Weitersfelden, with a church steeple and farmsteads set against rolling hills; a rising sun motif arches above the frame. The vignette is surrounded by bold stylised foliate and grass-blade ornaments radiating outward to all corners of the note. A banner scroll below the central vignette carries the place name inscription, and the printer's credit and edition notice appear in small letterpress at the lower left and lower right margins respectively. |

Klemens Brosch was one of the most gifted graphic artists working in Upper Austria in the early twentieth century, and his death by suicide in 1925 at age thirty-six cut short a career that had already produced striking work across poster art, illustration, and — briefly — Notgeld. This 20 Heller piece is among the small number of emergency currency issues he both designed and printed himself from his workshop in Urfahr, across the Danube from Linz.
Weitersfelden is a small market commune in the Mühlviertel uplands. That a village of its size commissioned Brosch directly is unusual; most comparable municipalities used regional print shops with no particular artistic ambition.
