One of thousands of Austrian Notgeld issues produced between 1919 and 1922 to address the catastrophic small-coin shortage that followed the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The new Republic lacked the minting infrastructure and raw materials to supply adequate subsidiary coinage, forcing municipalities — some barely large enough to warrant a post office — to print their own emergency fractions. Weissenkirchen bei Frankenmarkt, a small market community in Upper Austria, was among the countless villages that filled the gap with paper.

The Jaksch reference JPR1157-20.1 suggests a single known type for this denomination, with no recorded variants.
