Timelkam is a small market town in Upper Austria, and this 20 Heller note is a product of the Notgeld wave that swept Austrian municipalities between 1919 and 1922 — a period when small-denomination coinage had effectively vanished from circulation, hoarded or melted down in the chaos following the collapse of the Habsburg empire. Communes issued their own emergency paper out of practical necessity, not monetary ambition.
The KK Banknoten reference places this within a well-documented but enormous cataloguing effort covering thousands of such local issues. The 1072e designation suggests multiple variants exist within the Timelkam series alone.
