备注

Sankt Willibald is a small rural commune in the Innviertel district of Upper Austria, and this 20 Heller note is a product of the notgeld wave that swept Austrian municipalities after the collapse of the Habsburg monetary system left communities without adequate small change. The designer H. Doblmaier was almost certainly a local figure — notgeld of this type was routinely commissioned from regional artists and tradesmen rather than professional printing houses, which accounts for the wide variation in quality across the series. Josef Entholzer signed as Bürgermeister, giving the note its municipal authority under the provisional arrangements of the early First Republic.
