| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse is printed in dark brown on cream paper within a plain ruled border. The left panel carries a vertical patriotic verse in Gothic script, framed by an ornamental border of interlocking circles. The right panel bears the issuer's title in large Gothic lettering at the top, with the denomination '20 Heller' flanked by numeral cartouches at centre, followed by the guarantee text, redemption deadline of 30 September 1920, and the facsimile signature of Bürgermeister Altenhofer, with a small publisher's monogram at lower left. |

Sankt Agatha bei Wels is a small Upper Austrian parish, and like hundreds of similarly sized municipalities, it issued Heller notgeld during the coin shortage that gripped Austria from roughly 1916 onward. These hyperlocal emergency issues were authorized under wartime necessity and printed — or in many cases hand-stamped and typewritten — at a purely local level, often by the municipality's own clerk. The result is a category of note that varies enormously in execution even within a single series.
The Jaksch/Pick JPR0877Ib designation places this within the main Austrian notgeld corpus, but surviving examples from Sankt Agatha are genuinely scarce — small rural issues rarely circulated far, and fewer still were preserved once the postwar Heller coinage resumed.
