| Beschrijving voorzijde | Printed in olive-green and brown on cream paper, the obverse centers on a vignette of Schloss Gleiss as it appeared in 1630, rendered in a detailed woodcut-style illustration set within an elaborate scrollwork border of interlaced foliate ornaments. The denomination numeral '20' appears in large stylized figures at left and right, with the written value 'Zwanzig Heller' below. The lower portion carries the issuer inscription 'NOTGELD DER GEMEINDE SONNTAGBERG' with a guarantee clause in smaller text, accompanied by two facsimile signatures of the Bürgermeister and Vizebürgermeister. |

Sonntagberg is a pilgrimage village in Lower Austria, and its 1920 Notgeld issues were printed locally at the Waidhofen an der Ybbs press — one of dozens of small regional print shops that found steady business during Austria's acute small-change shortage following the collapse of the Habsburg monetary system. The design credit to Arch. J. B. Bukovics and Knell is unusual; architectural involvement in Notgeld design was not uncommon, but named design credits at this level of municipal issue are rarer than the notes themselves.
