Obverse description Printed in brown and blue on cream paper, the obverse is divided into three vertical panels: the two outer panels each bear the numeral '20' in large blue digits set within a geometric white lozenge on a brown ground. The central panel contains a vignette of a ruined stone tower or rocky outcrop rendered in brown tones, framed by a rectangular border. Below the full-width lower register, the issuer's name appears in bold Gothic script.

Reverse lettering Die Gemeinde Sonnberg in Oberösterreich gibt infolge Kleingeldmangels Notgeldscheine im Gesamtbetrage von 30.000 K aus, welche bis 31. September 1920 bei der Gemeindekasse in gesetzlichem Bargeld eingelöst werden.
