Opmerkingen

Senftenberg is a small market commune in the Krems valley, and this Heller note is a product of Austria's postwar Notgeld wave — the period between roughly 1919 and 1921 when hundreds of municipalities printed their own emergency small-change scrip because coinage had effectively vanished from circulation. The national government tolerated rather than authorized these issues, and most were redeemed and destroyed once the supply of small coins recovered, which is why surviving Lower Austrian commune notes in any condition are genuinely uncommon.

At 70 × 55 mm, this is among the smaller municipal issues of the series.
