| Obverse description | Brown letterpress Notgeld note with an ornate guilloche border framing the entire face. To the left, a vignette portrays a bust of the Austrian poet Robert Hamerling within an arched panel, accompanied by a verse inscription below identified as a telegram dated Graz, 22.VII.1883. To the right, the municipal coat of arms of Schrems is rendered in a central cartouche, flanked by the denomination numeral 20 HELLER repeated on both sides. The issuing authority, date of issue, and three manuscript signatures with printed titles appear along the lower margin. |

| Reverse description | Plain unadorned reverse printed in black on buff paper, carrying a block of justified German text setting out the legal basis for the issue: a municipal council resolution of 8 March 1920 authorising a second series of Notgeld with a six-month validity from 1 March to 15 September 1920, with the full assets of the Marktgemeinde Schrems pledged as guarantee. A warning against counterfeiting and the council's authorisation close the text, with the printer's imprint at the foot. |
