| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse is entirely typeset in Gothic blackletter script on plain paper within a repeating ornamental border, with the issuer heading 'Gemeinde Ruprechtshofen' in large display type at the upper register. A central text block sets out the legal issuance terms, recording a total emission of 25,000 Kronen authorised by council resolution of 3 June 1920, redemption conditions, and the facsimile signatures of the deputy mayor and mayor. Denomination numeral '20' occupies corner boxes, and an anti-counterfeiting warning is printed at the foot. |

Ruprechtshofen is a small Lower Austrian market town, and this 20 Heller note belongs to the vast wave of Notgeld issued across Austria and Germany between 1919 and 1922 when coin shortages made small-denomination exchange practically impossible. Municipal authorities, businesses, and even private associations printed their own emergency scrip to fill the gap — by 1920, tens of thousands of distinct issues existed.
The two signatories, Aigenbauer and Johann Hackner, were almost certainly local officials rather than bank functionaries — typical for Gemeinde-level issues where the mayor and a council member or treasurer co-signed to confer official standing.
