Langacker bei Perg is a small Upper Austrian municipality, and this note belongs to the vast wave of Austrian Notgeld issued between 1919 and 1921 when the collapse of the Habsburg currency system left local governments scrambling to cover small-denomination shortages that the new Republic could not yet address. The "red issue" designation distinguishes it within the Langacker series by ink color alone — a practical printer's solution when paper stock was constant but differentiation was needed across denominations or release dates.
Three signatories is notable for a note of this size and locality. Binder as Bürgermeister, Kastner as his deputy, and Schauhofer representing the council gave it a thin but deliberate veneer of municipal authority at a moment when public trust in paper was essentially zero.
