| Opmerkingen |
Ort im Innkreis is a small Upper Austrian municipality, and this 20 Heller Notgeld was issued in 1920 as part of the enormous wave of Austrian emergency coinage that flooded the country following the collapse of the Habsburg economy. Metal had effectively vanished from circulation, forcing thousands of municipalities — including tiny ones like this — to print their own fractional paper. M. Engel & Söhne in Vienna handled an enormous volume of these local commissions and produced workmanlike results on thin wartime-grade stock.
The JPR0711a series is relatively obscure even among Notgeld specialists.
