A central text block states the authority's obligation to redeem the notes based on the municipal committee resolution of 21 April 1920, with a framed inner panel specifying the redemption period from 1 to 31 December 1920. Below, a counterfeit warning reads 'Nachahmung wird gesetzl. bestraft,' followed by the signature line 'Der Bürgermeister: Alois Schick' in cursive script.

备注

Niedertalheim is a small Upper Austrian village, and this 20 Heller emergency note is a product of the Notgeld wave that swept through Austria between 1919 and 1922 — a response to the acute coin shortage left by the collapse of the Habsburg monetary system. Municipalities of almost negligible size issued their own fractional scrip simply because there was nothing else to make change with.

R. Koxberger's designer credit is unusual — most village-level Notgeld of this type came from regional printers working from stock templates. A named designer on a piece this small suggests some local ambition, or possibly a schoolteacher with a drafting hand.
