Five municipalities co-issuing a single Notgeld note is unusual even by the chaotic standards of Austrian emergency currency after the First World War. The post-1918 coin shortage left countless small communities printing their own fractional notes, but pooling resources across five separate villages — each contributing its own authorized signature — points to a degree of administrative coordination that most rural communes didn't bother with. Five signatories on one 20 Heller note is a practical oddity worth noting.
F. Kletar in Amstetten was a local commercial printer, not a specialist banknote house, which was entirely typical for Lower Austrian Notgeld of this period.
