| Obverse description | Printed in dark brown on cream paper, the note is framed by an ornate guilloche border and divided into two vertical panels: the left carries the denomination '20' at upper left, the title 'Zwanzig Heller' in Gothic script, the central inscription 'Gutschein', the issuing authority 'der Stadtgemeinde Melk a. d. Donau', an obligation clause in small Gothic text, a manuscript Bürgermeister signature, and at foot the validity legend 'Gültig nur bis einschließlich 30. Juni 1920' with 'Dritte Auflage' in bold red letterpress. The right panel presents a line-engraved vignette of Melk Abbey rising above the Danube, with a heraldic lion cartouche at lower right. |
