| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in red-brown on cream paper and carries a central vignette of the Mauthausen Sparkasse (savings bank) building rendered in fine line engraving, showing its Baroque façade with a cross-topped tower and flanking wings set against a hatched sky. Denomination numerals '20' appear in rounded cartouches at the upper left and right corners, with the value legend 'HELLER' stacked vertically in stylised Gothic lettering along both lateral borders, framed by Art Nouveau floral vine ornaments. The issuer's name 'MARKTGEMEINDE · MAUTHAUSEN' is inscribed in bold block letters within a decorative banner along the lower margin; the notation '4. Auflage' (4th issue) appears in small text at the lower left outside the frame. |

The right half carries the redemption text in italic script, flanked above and below by rows of decorative chain ornaments, followed by the printed facsimile signatures of the Bürgermeister, Vizebürgermeister, and Gemeinderat. |
