| Obverse description | Typeset Notgeld voucher printed in blue ink with a decorative wavy-line border running the full perimeter. The issuer's name "KOLOSSEUM Linz a.D." is set in bold letters across the top, flanked by the numeral 20 in each upper corner; the words "Varieté" and "Kino" appear at either side below the heading. This is a Notgeld issue — emergency small-change scrip produced by a private commercial entity, the Kolosseum G.m.b.H. of Linz, during the severe coin shortage that gripped Austria in the years immediately following the collapse of the Habsburg monarchy. The issuer appears to have been a cinema or entertainment venue; "Kolosseum" was a common name for picture houses of the period, and private businesses routinely printed their own fractional notes when the state could not supply adequate coinage.
Langhammer of Linz handled the printing — a local job for a purely local instrument.
