Langenlois is a small wine-producing market town in the Kamptal valley of Lower Austria, and its 1920 Heller notgeld issues were printed locally — a deliberate community response to the acute coin shortage that plagued Austria in the years immediately following the collapse of the Habsburg monarchy.
