| Opmerkingen |
Kirchberg bei Linz is a small market town in Upper Austria, and like hundreds of similar municipalities, it issued emergency paper money — Notgeld — during the acute coin shortage that followed Austria's defeat in the First World War. The 20 Heller denomination was among the most practical for everyday transactions, filling the gap left by hoarded copper and nickel coinage. Karl Huber operated out of Urfahr, the district directly across the Danube from Linz, and handled a significant volume of local Notgeld printing for Upper Austrian communities during this period.
