Opmerkingen

Imst is a market town in the Tyrolean Inn valley, and like hundreds of Austrian municipalities in the early 1920s it issued its own small-denomination Notgeld to plug the chronic shortage of coin that followed the collapse of the Habsburg economy. The Deutsche Buchdruckerei in Innsbruck handled a substantial portion of Tyrolean municipal emergency paper during this period, printing for multiple towns across the region — which means design quality and paper stock are relatively consistent across the series, but individual town issues can still be distinguished by their text and local authority marks.
