| Obverse description | Printed in green on cream paper, the obverse is dominated by a large central vignette of the village of Grünau set against an Alpine mountain backdrop, with a church steeple and rural buildings rendered in fine letterpress line work. The denomination '20 Heller' appears in large Gothic script in the upper left, set against a vertically lined background panel. Decorative foliate and scroll borders frame the composition on all sides, with the issuer legend 'Gemeinde-Grünau' inscribed along the lower margin in stylised Gothic lettering. |

| Reverse description | Printed in green Gothic script on a plain cream ground, the reverse carries the full text of the emergency currency ordinance, stating that the Commune of Grünau issues vouchers up to a total of K 20,000 by resolution of the municipal committee dated 28 February 1920, redeemable until 30 November 1920. The denomination numeral '20' appears in each of the four corners as an underprint in pale ochre. The text concludes with the anti-counterfeiting warning 'Nachahmung wird bestraft' and is signed by the Bürgermeister, Franz Huemer. |
