| 备注 |
Dunkelstein is a small village in Lower Austria, and like hundreds of similarly modest communes, it issued Heller Notgeld during the acute coin shortage that gripped Austria following the First World War. These municipal emergency notes were produced locally — often by the village printer or nearest town press — with little standardization in paper stock, ink, or serial numbering across the various denominations.
The JPR reference places this within the Jaksch/Pick Austrian Notgeld catalog, the primary authority for this material. The 20 Heller denomination was among the most commonly needed for everyday transactions, which typically means higher print runs but also heavier wear in surviving examples.
