Dornbach was a small market commune in Lower Austria that issued this Heller notgeld during the postwar currency shortage, when small-denomination coins had effectively vanished from circulation. The F. Beitenberg printing house in Vienna's third district handled a considerable volume of municipal emergency money during this period, typically producing simple typographic or lightly illustrated designs for communes that lacked the means for elaborate engraving.
The JPR0132c designation within the Jaksc reference system suggests this is one of several denomination variants issued by Dornbach, the 20 Heller being among the smaller values needed to replace hoarded Heller coinage.
