正面描述 Brown letterpress note centred on a vignette of a rural village scene with a church steeple and flanking buildings beneath a billowing cloud sky, with a forested hillside to the right. The denomination numeral '20' is placed in each upper corner within plain panels, with 'HELLER' arching across the top; the issuer name 'GEMEINDE AUBERG' runs in bold lettering along the lower margin, accented by small decorative rosettes at the lower corners. The printer's imprint 'Druck Kling, Urfahr' and the artist's credit 'B. Dergovidt' appear at the lower left and lower right respectively.

背面描述 Plain buff paper reverse printed in brown letterpress throughout. The upper portion presents a four-line rhyming verse in Upper Austrian dialect, followed by the bold heading 'Gutschein der Gemeinde Auberg.' and a formal redemption guarantee paragraph citing the Gemeinderat resolution of 13 June 1920, an anti-counterfeiting warning, and the edition designation '2. Aufl.' A manuscript signature of the Bürgermeister appears at the foot of the text.

备注

Auberg is a village in the Mühlviertel district of Upper Austria with a population that has rarely exceeded a few hundred — which makes this note one of the more obscure issues from the Notgeld wave that swept Austrian municipalities between 1919 and 1921. The economic collapse following the dissolution of Austria-Hungary left the central government unable to supply adequate small-denomination coinage, forcing even the smallest rural communes to print their own emergency money. Kling's press in Urfahr, just across the Danube from Linz, handled many such commissions for villages in the region.

The designer credit to B. Dergovidt is unusual — most Kleinnotgeld of this scale went unattributed.
