Opmerkingen

Austrian notgeld from the postwar inflationary spiral, issued by the municipality of Aspach in Upper Austria when small coin had effectively vanished from circulation. These local emergency notes were produced in enormous variety across hundreds of Austrian municipalities between 1920 and 1922, many commissioned as much for the collector trade as for genuine transactional use — a deliberate revenue strategy that the municipalities themselves openly pursued.

L. Daringer is a minor regional designer whose work appears on a handful of Upper Austrian issues from this period. Attribution to a named designer at this level of notgeld production was uncommon enough to be worth noting.
