| Description du revers | Plain cream-toned reverse printed entirely in dark brown Fraktur and Gothic script, with no pictorial vignette. The upper portion carries the title 'Gutschein der Gemeinde Stift Ardagger über' followed by the denomination 'Zwanzig 20 Heller' in large mixed script and numeral. A double horizontal rule separates the denomination from a block of redemption text below, stating that the municipality issues vouchers in denominations of 10, 20, and 50 Heller, redeemable until 31 December 1920. Two facsimile signatures with their titles appear at the foot of the note. |

Ardagger Stift is a small market commune in Lower Austria, home to a Romanesque collegiate church considered one of the finest in the region. Like hundreds of Austrian municipalities in 1920, it issued Notgeld to address the chronic small-change shortage that persisted well after the armistice — the Vienna government simply could not produce enough low-denomination coins to meet everyday demand. Local printer J. Kielar of nearby Amstetten handled a number of these municipal issues, making him a practical choice rather than a notable one.
Designer Emerich Kratki's involvement gives this note a degree of individual authorship unusual for village-level emergency currency. Two signatories — Josef Prachner and Leopold Hüttinger — authenticate the issue on behalf of the commune.
